Very kewl monochrome image ... love the shadows! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one playing mid-week and I'm relieved to know it's a week long activity ;--) Hugs and blessings,
I so often lie in bed thinking of how a picture similar to this would look, and every time I have come out with a negative answer.... however you have inspired me to try it, since it obviously works very well. It looks great. I think this must surely be in contention....
This is beautiful. My aunt in Milwaukee has gotten into photography and wants to start her own business, and I was looking through these two amazing books she had on her coffee table: The Americans ("Moving Out" and "Looking In"), by Robert Frank, and American Prospects, by Joel Sternfeld. Frank does a lot of black and white, and Sternfeld's landscapes remind me of that photo you took of your little cousin walking by the cannons.
Graduate student in journalism. Travel fanatic. Can't wait til the day I will be able to afford to travel the world. Photography freak. Love my cats. Do-gooder wannabe. Crossing my fingers that I will be able to get a job in the aid and development field when I graduate. Obsessed with Afghanistan. Pretty freaking liberal. Watch waaaaay too much TV. Often weird. Loner. Loyal to a fault. History nerd. Slight sci-fi geek. Pathologically shy. Shakespeare nut. Quirky sense of humor. Raised in the country, but love the big city
This blog is an opportunity for me to express myself, the true me, in a way that is difficult to do in the real world. Anyone who reads this is seeing the real me. I will try not to hide or misrepresent myself on this, so please respect that. Shakespeare said it best; "love looks not with the eyes but with the mind".

That picture makes me think of Philip Marlow and classics like the Big Sleep.
Don't worry about the Monday thing - it is a weeklong theme.

It is amazing I see my blinds all day long - never noticed they are so dreamy :) Thank you! I will never look at my blinds with same eyes again!
